Marnani Design Blog: My Process

Joie Sunday Girl Feature

I'm beyond thrilled to be partnering this month, with one of my most favorite personal brands, Joie. Having worked in the fashion industry for several years, I always love when I have the opportunity to illustrate for fashion brands.  Joie asked me to partner with me this Mother's Day to illustrate 14 lucky winners in time for the holiday {can you say adorable-fashion-coordinated families? #familystylegoals}.  As a bonus, they also included me in their Mother's Day #JoieSundayGirl feature - I am in some great company, with other entreprenuer moms - who all make it look so easy!  Take a look at the feature here!  {Photos by the uber talented - and kind (!) - Lisa Versino}.

The Joie homepage featuring some really amazing mamas - I am left humbled and inspired.  Once Baby N is born, I think I'll be channeling the spirit of these ladies who all make it look so easy!

Sitting in Baby N's nursery - I chose to decorate her walls with art I've collected over the years (mostly from our time in NYC), as well as some original fashion illustrations I sketched live at New York Fashion Week.  As she gets older, I hope to replace with her own art!

Reading in our living room - one of my greatest obsessions? Three words. Coffee. Table. Books.

Soon to be a family of five (cat not pictured)!

More fashion sketches over Baby N's crib.  The sketches were originally created as samples during a live illustration event in New York City.  One of my favorite things, are handmade gifts.  A best friend knitted the fun hot pink blanket, and chose a sparkly yarn for Baby Girl.  Everyone needs a little sparkle!

My best friends surprised me with a shower during a girl's trip in California.  The theme? Books and shoes! Each one gifted their favorite book as a chid, along with a pair of DESIGNER baby shoes (Jack Rogers, Chloe, Stuart Weitzman, and Versace, naturally).  This lady already has a better closet than her mom!

Reading in the nursery.  I wind down each evening by sitting in this room, and anticipating who Baby N will be.

Waiting for Baby!

38 weeks, and still going strong in the studio!
